The Bayou

Bayou: a relatively small, sluggish waterway through lowlands or swamps, generally with a slow, almost imperceptible current flow.
Although, they aren't small around here. They surround the schools and the city.
The bayou is a favorite spot for parties of the younger generations of New Orleans, even though, in years past, several kids have gone dancing in the wetlands and never seen again.
